What steps to take if you are stopped by a traffic police just to check documents

According to orders given to all traffic policemen, they are not supposed to stop any motorist just for checking documents. The motorists have the right to refuse the officer's request. However, motorist's documents can be checked if an offense has been committed. If a motorist has been stopped without any reason, he can note down the name and rank of the police officer and lodge a complaint on the website or email.

The complainant would be required to mention details for necessary action to be taken. Complaints can be mailed at addlcptrafficbcp@gmail.com
